Our Productions is excited to announce the cast & creative team for the regional premiere of Ordinary Days with music and lyrics by Adam Gwon.  Ordinary Days is presented through special arrangement with R & H Theatricals: www.rnh.com.  The production will be directed by Stephanie Riggs with music direction by Mark Mullino.  

 

The production will star David Price as Jason, Matthew Silar as Warren, Sarah Elizabeth Smith as Claire and Juliette Talley as Deb.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About the cast:

 

David Price (Jason)

David is making his Our Productions debut and has a B.F.A. in Theatre from SMU. Some local credits include: Telegin in Uncle Vanya (Dallas Actor's Lab), Donner in the national tour of Rudolph...The Musical (Wishing Star Productions), Buck in Bonnie & Clyde (WaterTower Theatre), John in From White Plains (Uptown Players), Stevie in Good People (WaterTower Theatre), Tobey in The Human Comedy (Lyric Stage) and Boatswain in The Tempest (Dallas Theatre Center). 

 

Regional credits include: Roderingo in Othello (New York Shakespeare Exchange), Valentine u/s in You Never Can Tell (The Pearl Theatre Company), Rob in Alien Sex Comedy (New Light Theatre Project), Dave Eggers in Anthropology of a Book Club (Manhattan Repertory Theatre), Polixenes in Winter's Tale (Actor's Shakespeare Company), Montano in Othello and Oliver in As You Like It (Illinois Shakespeare Festival).

 

Matthew Silar (Warren)

Matthew is making his Our Productions debut and made his D-FW debut last summer in Dogfight at WaterTower Theatre. He's performed with the professional improv companies of both Creede Repertory Theatre and Greenroom Improv. Some favorite credits include Hunter in [title of show], Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Robert Martin in Emma and Combeferre in Les Miserables. 

 

In 2011, he founded The 24 HR Musical in Chicago as a means to merge creativity and local charities, in an effort to create global change. Matthew received his B.F.A. in Acting and Directing from Abilene Christian University.

 

Sarah Elizabeth Smith (Claire)

Sarah is making her Our Productions debut and holds a B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from Baylor University.  She received a 2013-2014 DFW Theater Critics Forum Award for Best Actress.  

 

Select Regional Credits include Bonnie & Clyde (Blanche Barrow) and Putting It Together (Woman 2) at WaterTower Theatre, The Boy From Oz (Liza Minnelli) and Kiss of the Spider Woman (Marta) for Uptown Players, The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Edwin Drood) for PFamily Arts and City of Angels (Angel City 4) at Theatre Three. 

 

Juliette Talley (Deb)  

Juliette Talley is making her Our Productions debut.  She was most recently seen in WaterTower Theatre’s production of Dogfight (Rose) for which she received a 2013-2014 DFW Theater Critics Forum Award for Best Actress nod. 

 

Other credits include Spring Awakening at WaterTower Theatre, Noises Off (Poppy) at Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, The Baker’s Wife (Therese), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Helena) at PFamily Arts, Speech and Debate (Diwata) at Uptown Players and numerous productions at Collin Theatre Center where she studied, including In The Heights, Cabaret, Ragtime, Refuge and Unnecessary Farce.

 

About the Composer/Lyricist

Adam Gwon is a rising musical theatre writer, named one of "50 to Watch" by The Dramatist magazine and hailed "a promising newcomer to our talent-hungry musical theater" by The New York Times. His musicals include Ordinary Days, The Boy Detective Fails (with Joe Meno), Cloudlands (with Octavio Solis), Bernice Bobs Her Hair (with Julia Jordan), and String (with Sarah Hammond), which have been produced at Roundabout Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, South Coast Repertory, and many other theatres around the globe, including in London’s West End.  Adam has also contributed songs to the hit show Old Jews Telling Jokes and the webseries Submissions Only.

 

Adam is the proud recipient of the Kleban Award, the Fred Ebb Award, the Frederick Loewe Award, the Second Stage Theatre Donna Perret Rosen Award, the Weston Playhouse New Musical Award, the ASCAP Harold Adamson Award and the MAC John Wallowitch Award, as well as commissions from Roundabout Theatre Company, Playwrights Horizons, Signature Theatre, South Coast Repertory and Broadway Across America.  His songs have been heard at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, 54 Below, Joe’s Pub, Ars Nova and more, and performed by such luminaries as Audra McDonald, Kelli O’Hara, Liz Callaway and Brian d'Arcy James.

 

Recordings of Adam's work include the cast album of Ordinary Days (Ghostlight Records), Audra McDonald's Go Back Home (Nonesuch), Over the Moon: The Broadway Lullaby Project (Entertainment One) and more.

Adam has been a fellow at the MacDowell Colony, the O'Neill Music Theater Conference and the Dramatists Guild, is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a member of ASCAP and the Dramatists Guild.

 

 

About Stephanie Riggs, Director

Stephanie Riggs holds a B.F.A. from Texas Christian University, where she studied under scholarship for theatre, musical theatre and radio/television/film.  She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and an award nominated and winning, critically acclaimed actress & director in the D-FW Metroplex.  

 

She is the founder and a current Co-Artistic Director/Executive Producer of Our Productions Dallas and a Co-Producer/Educational Director of Our Productions Flower Mound-Lewisville and their educational conservatory, The Young Artist Training Program.  She is the author of the musical, Project Youth, with composer Jeff Kinman and lyricist Adam C. Wright.  

 

Stephanie has directed, choreographed and/or produced over 100 productions since Our Productions Denton County started in 1993 including the multi-award Leon Rabin nominated 2007 production of Honk!, where she was honored with a Best Director nom.  Under her leadership, Our Productions Theatre Co. is the only professional theatre company in Denton County and has been named to multiple “Top Ten Best of” lists in DFW including WFAA “Top 5 Best Theatres in North Texas” in 2009, “DFW’s Ultimate Best List” for Pegasus News 2010, BroadwayWorld.com Top Ten Dallas Theater 2009 and Nickelodeon’s Parent Pick “Best Theatre Group for Kids” in 2010.  

 

As an actress, her favorite credits include GFour Productions: Motherhood, The Musical, Theatre Three:  The Wild Party, I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change, Uptown Players:  Hello Again, Falsettos, A New Brain, WaterTower Theatre:  Dogfight, Lyric Stage:  Finian’s Rainbow, Casa Mañana:  Show Boat, Gypsy, and Our Productions Theatre:  The Last Five Years, Adventures in Love, Into The Woods and Little Shop of Horrors among others. 

 

About Mark Mullino, Music Director

Mark Mullino has worked extensively throughout the Metroplex and the United States as a musical director and actor.  Locally, Mark has musical directed/conducted at WaterTower Theatre, Dallas Theater Center, Uptown Players, Plano Repertory Theater, Lyric Stage and Theater Arlington, as well as directed/musical directed many shows for Our Productions Theatre Co., including being nominated for a Leon Rabin award for Best Play and Best Director for Our Productions (then Theatre FMPAT’s) 2006 production of Brighton Beach Memoirs.  Mark has also received numerous other Column and Leon Rabin Awards.  

 

He may also be seen playing for the weekly cabaret show “Mama’s Party” and teaches musical theatre at KD College, Collin College and is a faculty member for Our Productions’ Young Artist Training Program.  He maintains a private studio and is an artist.  He is the President and co-founder of Dallas Young Artists.  Mark received his Bachelors in Music from Hardin-Simmons University.  

 

Production Team

 

Kristin VanSickle(Production Stage Manager) received a BA in Art and Performance in 2012 from UTDallas under the guidance of Jeff Stover. She has worked as a technician with Bootstraps Comedy Theatre, Dallas City Performance Hall, and Watertower Theatre. Scott Kirkham(Executive Producer/Scenic/Sound Designer) serves as Executive Producer and Production Designer for Our Productions Theatre Co. He holds an M.F.A. in Scenic Design from Florida State University’s School of Theatre and a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Texas A&M University. A Dallas native, Scott’s career has taken him to Florida, Ohio, New York, California, and back to Dallas.  An award winning designer, his favorite shows in Dallas include Plano Repertory Theatre: Chicago,The Rocky Horror Show, Contemporary Theater of Dallas: Pump Boys and Dinettes, Bucket Productions: Macbeth, Irving Community Theatre: One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Damn Yankees, Pegasus Theatre: Rehearsal for Murder, Another Murder, Another Show, and Our Productions Theatre Co.: Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Adventures in Love, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Art, Project Youth, Peter pan, Great Tuna (Series), and God of Carnage. Scott is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association. He is father of two, husband of one, and human to three shelter dogs (if looking for a pet, please consider a shelter animal first).

 

Julie Simmons (Lighting Design) is thrilled to be working with Our Productions Dallas on their inaugural production!  She designs for several other companies in the area including Lyric Stage and Ballet Ensemble of Texas.  Julie is currently the Technical Director for the Murchison Performing Arts Center at UNT’s College of Music.  Thanks to her beautiful daughter and amazing husband for their love and support. 

 

Susan Doke (Costume Designer) is so honored to be working with such an extraordinary group of talented people on the inaugural show of Our Productions Theatre Company Dallas. Previous design credits for Our Productions Flower Mound/Lewisville include Project Youth, Driving Miss Daisy, and Barefoot in the Park. Many thanks to Stephanie, Mark and Brad for this opportunity and to my family for their loving support of all my crazy endeavors. 

 

Stefany Cambra (Dramaturg/Prop Mistress) is thrilled to be working with Our Productions for the first time.  After graduating from Drury University and spending some time in Chicago, she returned to Dallas last year to pursue a career in directing.  Recently, she has worked closely with CTD as props designer for The Great American Trailer Musical, assistant stage manager for Little Women, and assistant director for Noises Off .  Other credits include directing Down the Road, The Little Dog Laughed, and Mr. Marmalade- as well as performing as Margaret in Core Theatre's production of Fire at the Cocoanut Grove and Eve in Vandivort Theatre's The Good Body.
