Equity & Diversity Statement
Our Productions Theatre Co. and our educational outreach, The Young Artist Training Program, believe our differences make us strong. We strive for a safe, inclusive environment dedicated to promoting the performing arts. We do not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, national origin (ancestry), disability, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status.
All are welcome here.
We Are Invested in the Future of the Arts
The cost of tuition should not discourage anyone from applying to our program. Limited tuition assistance is available to qualified students. Applications are reviewed confidentially by a separate Tuition Assistance Committee/separate from faculty/staff. We are a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 IRS recognized charitable organization and depend on donations to carry on our robust tuition assistance.
Audition Based Conservatory Company
Under the direction of Stephanie Riggs, Educational Director, YATP is our renowned musical theatre training program. Established in 1993 in Flower Mound, YATP celebrates our 31st year in 2023. We have trained students with careers both stage and screen, that span across both Europe and the United States, from London to Germany, Los Angeles to New York, and right here at home in Big D. Enrollment is by invitation only after annual auditions each May/June during our Summer Intensive.
YATP students make a big impact wherever they go.
The small, conservatory style program admits students by auditions for the year each summer, most of whom train with the program for more than five years or until graduation, when they move on to both professional careers and/or outstanding university programs. Our working professional alumni, credit YATP with giving them the strong foundations for the work they do today. The YATP legacy is strong.
YATP Jr. - Build the Right Foundation
**NEW for 2023-2024** Open enrollment skills workshops for 1st - 5th graders with our tenured, experienced and acclaimed YATP faculty along with talented Interns & Jr. Interns from our full conservatory program.
These workshops are intended to be foundational for students to work on building strength while laying the firm technical foundation required from performers hoping to one day join the YATP full conservatory program and/or for future performing arts opportunities as young professionals.
Learn skills properly from the start with our experienced, dedicated faculty, and avoid years of undoing poor habits later. Skills gained will help students shine whether at YATP, other area auditions, or with self-confidence at school. A sturdy house needs a firm foundation.
