FREE Community Event!

Our Productions is happy to announce the return of the Play Readers Club. This club will meld both arts patrons and professionals together to explore new  scripts in a “Book Club” style approach. This year we will be presenting the club meeting in festival format! Join us for a different script starting each hour as we feature more new scripts than ever before at this one day festival. We read/listen to a work together and then discuss it, book club style. Guest moderators will include previous selected writers and Board Members. Suggested age 17 and up for PRC Selections. Play Readers Club Jr. selections are open to all ages.

The 2022 event will be held in the open air classrooms at the Lewisville Grand for Covid Safety. Please mask up and practice social distancing to stay safe. All local, regional and national recommended Covid Safety Protocols will be followed for this event based on current conditions.

The 2023 Play Readers Club will begin accepting script submissions from September 1 - October 31, 2022 for the December 2022 announcement of the selected playwrights for 2023!

We are seeking a diverse selection of new works to feature in our annual PRC Event. Although submissions are welcome from around the country, first priority is given to local and Texas based playwrights.

To submit your script for consideration: Email PDF scripts to info@ourproductions.org with your name and the title of your play in the subject line, and include a short biography of yourself in the body of the email. Scripts should be submitted to us between September 1 - October 31 annually. Early or late submissions will not be accepted. Any script length is fine - one, two or three acts. The writers will be selected by our Board of Directors and Play Reading Committee.

If you are interested in serving on the Play Readers Club Script Selection Committee, please email info@ourproductions.org.

Past Play Readers Club selected Playwrights include Lindsay Hayward, Ken Orman, Mikey Abrams, Bruce Coleman, Andi Allen, David Douglas, Corey Ranson and many other talented writers. For the writers, Play Readers Club is a great way to get feedback from a community of professionals and patrons alike; a chance to have their work heard.
